feels like the first time

bon jour tout le monde!

i’m finally here, exhausted from a long flight and day of getting my bearings. the good news is that spring has sprung and the sun is strong and bright!

it’s probably the first time i’ve been here in the spring since i was a kid and it’s a completely different city every single trip. i can’t believe i keep coming in january for the maison objet, what was i thinking?

the streets are filled with music and laughter, the scent of coffee and flowers, it’s positively heaven on earth!

i’m staying in the 6e and though it’s familiar, i’ve never really done more than casually pass through. now i’m in the heart of a ton of action and tried to take some video with my flip that i’ll give a whirl at uploading in a minute.

i have a really early call with my first client in the morning and one of her desires (mine too)! is to visit a textile mill. when i came up short i asked my brilliant friend mélanie of le petit cabinet de curiosities and just now she introduced me to an incredible company whose mills are in lyon but showroom is in paris. of course that led to a ton of other clues and now i’m in the throes at the last minute!

    Hi Claudia,
Please enjoy Paris for us! My husband and I were there at the beginning of May last year. It was a first time for the both of us and we completely fell in love with the city! We also stayed in the 6th and so I have a few places to recommend to you, if you are not already familiar with them. I really loved Moeti, a card and stationery store at 30, rue Dauphine, the Taschen store at 2, rue de Buci (great art and travel books) and our favorite place to have tea was across the street from the Luxembourg Gardens called Thé Cool at 13, rue de Médicis. We will be looking forward to reading your posts each day and reliving our trip!

betty i wanted to thank you for those cafes and shops, i’ll look for them! and nicole, usually i’m here in the DEAD of winter and it’s beautiful but really tough. if you like the cold it’s amazing and makes you really think about what it was like here in the days before the creature comforts like heat and hot water.
