the parisian getaway

lydia marie elizabeth blog

hi guys what’s going on? it’s late and i just got in from a couple days away working on a job with liz in the keys. i was just about to close shop for the night but this interview with Lydia Marie Elizabeth arrived in my inbox just now. hope you enjoy it,we talked about some romantic ways to spend a romantic afternoon with your honey. her paintings are divine and she’s a really sharp sweetheart. here’s an excerpt:

My first Designer Highlight of the series in 2016 is Claudia Strasser of The Paris Apartment.  She has based her business around the beauty of Parisian Interiors.  Because while “Italian design is wonderful and Chippendale is great; it’s not French.”  She points out that from Marie Antoinette’s shoe collection to the wall detail decoration, “I don’t know how one culture creates so much so perfectly, but they did. They nailed it.” Claudia explains.  read the full article here:

flowers, palms and fronds

how’s your tuesday? i’m traveling with liz on a job in the keys. we’ve been friends for decades and work together whenever we can. it means road trips and good food, hard work and inappropriate laughs. in our room in the keys, the decor is tropical. botanical prints of various palm trees inspired me to pinterest search ‘botanical vintage’ and of course got lost in a world of renderings and illustrations.

soaking in the bath

it’s almost midnight and this monday is about to draw to a close. that is if i can pry myself away from the infinite and inspirational images on pinterest.  how are you doing this february night? it’s pretty cold even here in miami beach so i hunkered down indoors enough of the day to paint my bathroom and prep it for a makeover. it’s about as basic as it gets with a glass door shower, built in vanity sink and mirror and 60s tile. scrolling through the pictures tonight made me really think about how this tiny space can convey so much from romantic to restful, masculine, welcoming, cozy, elegant, industrial, farmhouse, feminine, modern, natural or serene. just to start.  above image via house of jade interiors blog

i started getting obsessed with these kinds of memes

bathroom-with-personal-touches these bloggers, photographers and designers are amazing in my book

daebea840303120c83ec00986621c1e9 such simplicity and sophistication all at once

057e8bef1e32fbe2646512d0b927037a i love the bathroom cause even the smallest corner can pack a punch

5cde0d0951188adef8252b59ad8a50ac and the details can really be appreciated, maybe more than in any other room

0eb7229af66986926eaf06cf207354f7 some even consider it a venue to showcase artwork

i love how they mixed the natural floor in with the modern hardware and rainshower

bathroom-shower-hooks so much fun can be had in the minute finishing touches

decorpad i adore these crystal handles

just a smattering of ideas (click each for links)

personally i reside somewhere between these three. well the decor will have to wait, it’s drying and it’s bedtime. have a good night!
