can’t take that away

good morning guys, it’s been a while! actually i’ve wanted to stop by but a cruel email threw a wrench into my mojo. it’s weird how someone can knock off your game and make you self conscious. i’ve been trying to get my joie de vivre back ever since and finally feel peaceful again!

pinterest.com/pin

it got me thinking about joy and happiness, how it’s so easy to be affected by someone else’s opinion or unkind word. why are those the ones that stick with us like knives in the heart? on the upside, i’m a lot more conscious of how easy it is to change something from good to bad during the day in so many situations.

anyway i just wanted to share some pics of bliss.  moments captured that remind us it’s everywhere and we can create it any time for someone else with a smile or kind word.

i’ve been focused on health and diet lately instead of decorating and am still at it. for those of you who have been working on it too, how’s it going? i can’t say i’ve seen enormous results but will keep on keeping on, knowing one day soon i’ll to wake up and say voila!

pinterest.com/pin

the best thing that’s happened so far has been eating less and doing more physically, yoga, walking…nothing major but a big change in diet. my skin looks a lot better so that’s a perk!

anyway i came across these on pinterest and thought i’d pass them along.

so, as of about 10 minutes ago, the construction outside my window started. the cement truck is spinning and i’ve got to close the doors. so it’s off to look for a new place again today. i’ve emptied out my apartment and moved a lot into a collective. it’s kind of great to just have the minimum around now, keeps me feeling lean even if it’s not showing up on my bod yet. maybe tomorrow! well, keep on trucking darling friends, i’m so glad you’re here. have a fabulous thursday!

It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one that started working out, I run everyday for around 30min and also go to hip hop classes every Wednesday, (yesterday was a blast!) good luck!!

I’m sorry to hear about your nasty email. Just remember that most mean people are lashing out because they have something broken or hurting inside of themselves — it has nothing to do with you.

Glad your diet/exercize thing is going well. My biggest challenge is my many-lattes-per-day habit. It turns out that, even with nonfat milk, there’s still 130 calories in a grande nonfat latte. So if I have 3-5 of these a day, that’s 390-650 calories before we even talk about those dark chocolate covered graham crackers… I liked it better when I could eat whatever I want without gaining weight, and my biggest problem was people suspecting me of having an eating disorder! Oh, Metabolism, why hast thou forsaken me???!

I could really relate to your thoughts about how a mean-spirited person can affect our lives, I did a post about this a couple of weeks ago called, “What Do You See?” about how a mean person can become our center of interest, oh how we need kindness and encouragement!!!

Be who you are, and go forth in JOY ~ and know that you are spreading beauty in the world!

Love your post today, very inspirational. I love your nutrition diagram and tips. We are creatures of habit and so are our pets. I walked my dog a few times and now he demands his walks every day! he doesn’t let me get away with out walking a least once a day. I luv my pooch! Don’t worry about seeing results right away, the results that take time last longer.

Booooo to the haters! Don’t feel sorry for them either and remember, you must mean a lot to them in order for them to admit such feelings!! Stress and negativity ages us… Don’t give it the glory…. Although this all sounds good, that kind of stuff takes the wind out my sails too. Take it in if you must but them turn it around and harness that power for your resolve to be awesome again. You’re joie de vivre is calling you back!

Claudia you have been such an inspiration to me. In fact you inspired me to start my business and I am so grateful for that. I see you as a strong beautiful inspiring woman. The stronger and more successful you get the more jealousy you will get. Keep your inner voice stronger than those outside of you. You are amazing!

Glad you’re keeping on trucking! There’ll always be negative people out there. The saddest thing is that they had nothing better to do than to sit down and take the time to actually write you a nasty email. If you don’t like what people put on their blogs, then don’t read it!! Simple.

    Hello Claudia:
Re: “so easy to be affected by someone else’s opinion or unkind word. why are those the ones that stick with us like knives…” Not only do they stay with us, they can stay for years! I believe one of the reasons for this kind of cruelty is jealousy (though of course there are probably a lot of other reasons, too).
Just know that your goodness far outweighs their meanness. You’re a good one!

The health & weight advice is good; but that big list should include walking – amazing what it can do! It all reminds me of that old song, “eat an apple every day, get to bed by three…” The only thing I’m doing lately is the “get to bed by three” part. :)

Being a nurse, I’m used to nasty comments at work, but I would hate to get a nasty email. Oh well, that person is either jealous or maybe they just lost someone close to them. What I wanted to say is your puppy and kitty pictures made my day. I had to call the other RNs over to see. So you made quite a few folks happy tonite! Thanks! Love, Linda

It’s easy to say, harder to do, but don’t llisten to the negative. It’s sad that there are people around that rather than support, want to pull other’s down, and ultimately, it’s a reflection of them, not you.

You’re adorable and you need to just keep doing things the way you do and get your sparkle back. :) I’m with you on your health kick. From over here in France, ten days in going well and seeing the results. xo

I feel like your message was sent especially to me by God. Feeling worthless, letting other people keep you from the things you love to do…and the next thing you know you are sitting in a puddle of your own tears, saying, this is not what my life is supposed to be about. I’ve had an amazing life in the past…but one person can turn your world upside down in a way you would never think.

Thank you for helping me put this in perspective. I really needed your story today.
