swimming in a deep sea of blankets
hey guys, how are you doing tonight? i hope if you’re here you’re enjoying a minute of downtime!
i’ve been jamming as much as possible into my days and as usual blogging is last on the list. well something special got me here today. it was fresh inspiration from my very own mom.
my mom and i have a mutual love for quilts. slightly different versions, i revere them them, she creates them. and today she sent the quilt of my dreams! it was a year in the making but as she says, it has to be done stitch by stitch. it’s white on both sides and shows the intricate hand stitching, the cotton is soft and the flowers are puffy. and just what i always wanted! thank you mom, i’ll have this forever!
well i better get to tuning out. it”s past midnight and i’m apartment hunting in morning…et maintenant, beaux rêves to you!

This is beautiful, Claudia! Your mom did all the quilting by hand? If you get a chance, please post a close up shot where we can see the stitches better. I love hand quilting but it took me an eternity to do a little lap quilt. I’m in awe of the labor of love that went into a quilt this size, one stitch at a time.
