Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?

happy new year’s eve everyone! my tradition of getting lost in a vintage flickr world each holiday is still one of my favorite pastimes and today’s trip was as much fun as ever. i’m in an airport right now but it’s snowing so we’re not sure when or if we’ll leave. since i’m about to run out of juice i wanted to say a quick hello and wish you the best of everything for the new year!

it may seem like i’m stuck in a vintage time warp but i look at life from just 100 years ago and see how much we’ve changed and how much is the same since the turn of the century.

seeing how this decade flew by makes me really want to make something special of each day and stop wasting time.

well,we’re boarding! i’ve got to sign off so have a fabulous night whether staying cozy at home or painting the town rouge!

here’s a toast to you, my wonderful friends and hoping this will be best year the planet has seen yet!

    Your Majesy…Happy New Year!

Merci for this very important message that you have conveyed to us all. So many times we forget what a privilege it is to be living in this wonderful world. We consume ourselves with jealousy, envy, anger, doubt, negativity and we deprive ourselves of true happiness. Before we know it all of these negative and ill feelings have sucked the life and happiness right out of us. We need to embrace life and re-kindle relationships of all kinds. I am reminded of how short life is everyday and even when my children test me to no end, I just quickly remember just how lucky I am to have them and how much I just want to create loving memories for them and myself. I remember just how lucky I am to have my Prince of a husband who is so supportive in all that I do, even if he may disagree. Merci Claudia for giving us this tidbit to reflect upon for the new year! May we all live happy healthy lives.

    Royal wishes,
    Daisy

    Hi Claudia,
Just came upon your blog for the first time, i just adore your vintage new year cards and am off next to see others on flickr!
Looking at the card for 1910 made me stop in my tracks!
My husband has often used the phrase “it will be all the same in a 100 years time” meaning that it will not matter much to anyone in a 100 yrs time, and i just stopped and thought of all those people who may have had the thought of trying to imagine in 1910 what the world would be like in….2010! And here we are! Its frightening how time goes by so after that ramble Happy New Year from Ireland!
