random connections
bonsir mes amis! hope you’re having a great friday night! i’ve been slacking off a bit tonight and following breadcrumbs…isn’t it amazing what you come across on the net and the way you got there? i can never seem to retrace my steps but tonight i decided to try. i found fantastic photographer, lee miller when i was looking for a book cover.
turns out she shot the beautiful cover above, featured on stylecourt’s blog
i was looking for it was cause the safari museum.com contacted me after seeing lynn’s book on my blog, by the same author, osa johnson.
style court has passion for books and another of her links led me to the selby where i spent way too long.
i love book collections. they’re such an individual statement and really intimate.
so anyway, that’s about 1/100th of what i’ve seen tonight and i bet your tracks have been pretty magical too! i better get going but just wanted to say hi and sort of recalibrate after a couple hectic days.
my blog’s always been that kind of r&r for me. i know this was a random post about absolutely nothing but i was having a seinfeild evening, what can i say? there’s so much going on that sometimes it’s almost a meditation to zone out and fly…
bon nuit! xoxoc

Hi Claudia,
I’m doing the same thing tonight, looking at blogs and watching Antiques Roadshow. This kind of thing is medative and helpful to me too. Im also trying to sort out my storage dilemmas at the same time. I just put some very old books back on a bookshelf, and got to use the box they were in for dishes and china things. Organizing the little things helps me sort out the bigger matters in life too. Your pictures are fabulous as always! I love the books and want to check out the links too.

I hope you had grand fun with Liz. The first picture is amazing! I love getting lost looking at things. I rarely can find my way back when I want to find something I saw. If I could just figure out the right words to put into google!

My husband gave me a wonderful copy of I Married Adventure for Christmas. I have had it lying on the piano bench and it keeps catching my eye. I’d love to do an entire room around it.
Books. We have them everywhere. I finally had a library built two years ago, and you know…it is the most perfect place to disappear to. Highly recommended!

I find myself examining the bookshelves of any house I walk into. It’s so interesting to see what people read or collect.

Wouldn’t it be fun for everyone to post a pic of her own book shelf? My husband swears I married him for his book collection. After all, he did have a great copy of the Oxford English Dictionary, so could you blame me? Enjoying your blog. Thanks, Nadine Bouler

This is a great post! I’ve never fully articulated or been able to explain how I lose entire evenings when all I set out to do was to read a blog post or two. Or buy a cookbook or a pair of earrings. 367 clicks later, I’m reading about rare bird sightings or I’ve bought another cool but totally superfluous demitasse from Australia. But thanks for sharing. I had fun following your breadcrumbs!
