le book
bonjour friends! you may know, but in case you don’t, i opened The Paris Apartment as a boutique and wrote the book in ‘97. it’s hard to believe it’s been so long and definitely time for a new one.
it’s filled to the gills with everything i loved back then and still do. it’s just that i try to show a little more reserve now. anyway it was about fantasy, not to be taken too seriously!
you can order one signed to you or a friend here:
or purchase from amazon:

ah, since it has been ten years since you wrote your piece of art & absolute loveliness, will there be a follow up anytime soon? would be a very happy, happy girl…and many others, am sure, to run right out a grab it up.
xo peace, love and light in your Florida abode, I left NYC for Arizona and have been here 15 plus years, without any little tears in my heart for Manhattan (well, none that can’t be mended with a walk through my downtown Sedona, that is) Happiness & blessings to you.

Ok, I’m going to do it!!!
It’s been on my to do list for so long but life keeps getting in the way. If I make time to do a little each day, by the end of the year you’ll have your book. Thanks for the motivation!

A customer at my store heard that you were working on a new book. Made my day! I keep your book on hand always, it’s constant eye candy. I can’t wait to sell it in my store, and to sit in my favorite chair and take it in. I know it will be great! Thank you.

You said we could make fun of your book. My friend bought a copy of your book when we were girls in college. She still has it but it gets lost from time to time. This weekend it popped up again. I poured over the pages and we talked about what we like and didn’t like about it all over again. It is one of our sentimental touchstones. I love your book because of all the memories it holds.

Yesterday was my birthday, and a friend in Texas sent me the most FABULOUS birthday present…it was your book!!!!!! She had NO idea that I follow your blog, or that I was planning to buy the book before going back to Paris in Sept. She just saw it in a boutique, and bought it. Isn’t that cool? I cuddled up on the couch with my blanket, a glass of wine, and relished every single page. Love it!

Claudia,
I am SUCH a fan. I happened upon this gorgeous site this morning, and LOVE your new photos. Thank you for generously sharing them. I bought your book when it first came out and have it on view at all times. I wrote to you several years ago and was delighted that you took the time to write me back! I’d had one trip to Paris, still longing to return, and your book was like food for the starving. I am moving soon and hope to do it up in Paris Apartment style. LOVE your sense of art and vision. I reside in Oregon…so if you are ever out this way, I hope you will give me a jingle.
Thank you for this lovely site and for sharing so graciously of your talent and keen artist eye.

Not only do I have and still enjoy your book, but the book and your website are part of the reason I’ve scored two vintage chandeliers (one for $20 and one for $42) for my new house, the reason I fell hard for a vintage red rolltop chinoisserie desk, the reason I painted a feature wall aubergine… :o) My own style has definitely been influenced by yours. I dream of being able to join you on one of your Paris flea market trips. I hope you’ll still be doing them if ever a time comes when I have the funds.
If you have any recommendations for convincing husbands that one knows an amazing deal when one sees said deal, I bet I’m not the only one who’d love to hear it. :o) Mine is an awesome guy, but was still living with hand-me-downs and college furniture, posters of black panthers and stuff like the egg “this is your brain on drugs”, etc.
I joined wordpress to reply to your blog, but I’m not sure I have a real handle on how that works since it still asked for my email. I’m sorry if I’m doing anything that’s complicating things.
