good morning and happy saturday! it’s still before 9am and nice and quiet out the window. waiting for my slumber party guests to dress i decided to surf a little for inspiration and came across a ton of pretty things as usual.

what stood out today was the sheer magnitude of simplicity.

we’re shooting vignettes, rooms and corners. Mostly realizing that it doesn’t take much to say a heck of a lot.

You know, it’s not just the simplicity of these pictures you’re drawn to again and again. “Great bones” are so important; the high ceilings, the architectural detailing like thick mouldings, well-aged herringbone parquet flooring, those enormous windows — but most of all, I notice the clean, white natural light. All of your photos today have the same color temperature of natural daylight, a crisp, white light that suggests wintry weather outside the windows and makes the interiors seem like cozy little havens. I hope you find your simplicity, “great bones,” and the perfect lighting to capture the mood you’re after in your own photo shoot today. Thanks for sharing these lovely images — I always enjoy your posts!
