home alone
hi guys! happy friday!
wow. it seems like forever since i’ve been alone with my home. i wish i could tell you it was really coming together but it’s slow going. a comforter here, planter there…i should have hung these sconces tonite but hey, tomorrow is another day, n’est pas?
i did indulge in the feng shui perscription to add elements and metals to each room so these gold pillows were my first go at it.
when the armoire came i started organizing but that came to a standstill with the daily grind. i thought there was light on the horizon but it’s still been days and days of catching up after months and months of running around.
this summer will be the first time staying in one place and i plan on loving every minute of it.
i can’t wait to nest but for now i’m just living with the space, looking for what belongs, a vanity or slipper chairs? bench or entry table?
total non sequitur but we were fabric shopping and found luscious this silky teal stretch remnant yesterday. it’s been such an inspiration color for us that i had to shoot its richness. who knows what we’ll do with it but every once in a while we indulge in $3 fabric!
anyway life’s a lot different now than when i was ny or running to paris every few months, but i’m happy here and it gets better every day. here’s my attempt at a self portrait of my bliss tonight! hope you have a fantastique weekend!

Your home looks soft and quiet and so inviting. I would love to be there.
The turqoise fabric is fabulous…it’s hard to believe it isn’t a very expensive bedspread.
As always you are an inspiration…perhaps I’ll get some of my own work done tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend…it looks heavenly where you are.

You look happy — and to me that’s the most important thing a home should do. That luscious $3 teal fabric–I’d keep it right on the bed.

Those sconces are to die for! Even though you didn’t get them on the wall yet, they look beautiful in that little corner…it seems that’s when you know you have a truly beautiful piece, at least that’s how it is for me.
Love your blog!
