let the beauty of what you love be what you do
over 800 years ago, rumi was writing beautiful words that are as poignant today as they were then. something came thru my inbox today and it got me thinking about this powerful poet. thought i’d share a few of my faves and get out of my messy head. still, doesn’t EvErYhTinG come back to interiors? the above photo is from his tomb.

Let the lover be disgraceful, crazy,
absentminded. Someone sober
will worry about things going badly.
Let the lover be.
***************************
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense.
*******************************
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep.
********************************
There is a way between voice and presence
where information flows.
In disciplined silence it opens.
With wandering talk it closes.
namaste!
(literal translation means “i bow to you”)
wishing you a wonderful weekend with the ones you love!

Thank you. “The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you” belongs on my wall. The only question is custom vinyl, framed typography, or embroidery…

I love the poetry and wisdom of Rumi. My husband and I took most of our vows and wedding ceremony text from his writings. Thanks for the dose of inspiration. So lovely!

We’re taken in this dance
No one sits this one out.
You think you’re able to resist
But all that’s shaken
Your remains
Sitting in an urn.
