les fleurs are en bloom
hi everybody, hope your week is in full swing and that everything is well in your world :)
it’s funny when you go through your photos after a trip. this is the first i’ve really seen some of the shots around town. guess i still have my thing for window boxes and wish i had more but they were few and far between.
isn’t it your aesthetic obligation to have a flower box if you live in paris?
i must say, i was never a geranium fan, but am growing to love them for the way they respond to, well, light and water, the way they smell and surreal colors.
i guess i was practicing my long shot/tight shot skills. the palms were a creative surprise. and probably really low maintainence!
sometimes the wide shot just doesn’t capture the happiness and pride the flowers seem to have.
i want to smoosh my face in them!
these were just moments, behind a door, in a park.
life is so lovely, hope you’re enjoying every moment of it with the ones you love! more soon, xc

That 4th picture makes my heart go pitter pat! It’s one thing to see such beautiful iron work but combined with the stunning stone work underneath……seriously breathtaking.
Lovely pictures as always,
Merci, au revoir

Love seeing more shots from your trip. I hope many more are coming!
Funny thing about the lantern in the first couple of shots – I have a lovely shot of a covered alleyway in Paris with the same sort of lantern. I just adored that lantern and finally convinced my husband to replace the light in our dining room (which also is the room the front door opens into – its a very small house) with an outdoor lantern I had found that looked very much like the Paris lanterns.
It was a disaster. I loved the look of the lantern, but if you look closely at them, the top of the lantern is a solid metal piece / roof. It sends all the light out the side and down, but none to the ceiling and the effect in a fairly small room with only regular height ceilings was gloomy and unflattering. So depressing, on several levels.
For my birthday he replaced it with a beautiful, appropriately sized, crystal chandelier. I hope to find another home for the “Paris” lantern soon, but for now its in the garage. Oh well, live and learn! And in the meantime, I enjoy the photos.
