it had to be you
i’ve always loved that song, i’m sure you do too, it’s part of our cultural psyche or something. turns out it’s also a ginger rogers movie. amazon.com/Ginger-Rogers
(it was ginger rogers month on tcm and i recorded a ton of stuff i’ve never seen). ginger has to be one of my all time faves as a quadruple threat as far as someone who can sing, dance, play the drama queen or even better, comedic roles. plus she’s just utterly timeless in her gorgeousness and in terms of pure style! i took the shot below with my phone’s camera just to remember one of the fabulous sets. it’s a silly movie but everything from the clothes and hair and shots of grand old ny really get me!
i’ve got the place all to myself for the next 10 days so first it’s time to chill with my tcm! have a great saturday night!

These icons of vintage movies certainly conjured glamour in not only what they wore but even how they moved and spoke. Perhaps our moves have changed somewhat over the years, but I’m happy to say that sequins do a lot for many of my beautiful friends! Best Wishes, Therese

I saw Ginger Rogers play “Auntie Mame” in London when I was 16 years old. It was a special experience.
