fingerpainting a masterpiece

bon soir mes amis! hope you’re enjoying a fab sunday nite doing what you love. it’s that time again when whether i’m ready and able or not, have to get it together for paris. why do i do it, especially when the world is in a tizz? first i’m possessed and can’t help it, and second, i’m meeting up with old and new friends. some are blog buds i can’t wait to meet.
i’d like to formally extend an invitation to all of you to come along too any time within the first 3 weeks of may. it seems like a crazy time to go but truth is we’re all on a shoestring and are will share one of the gorgeous apartments we all lust (or as close as we can get to it. if not we’ll stage a makeover). Each person pays for the time they stay and their own airfare. that’s it!
my goal is to finish the books i’ve been mulling over way too long. seems i work on everything but when that’s what i really want to be doing. (besides blogging :)
anyway, this stack of mags is research from my october trip and i haven’t cracked one. guess i get overwhelmed and procrastinate knowing it’s tucked away safely. but years can go by. and have really…
i did make it through one today (above). what a wealth of information. from now on i’ll be posting all my resources for the books and trip on my other blog to keep it all organized at theparisapartment.blogspot.com. it’s a little nuts right now with bells and whistles cause i’ve been playing with my amazon widgets. it’s not ready but oh well. by the by if you have a blog or site check out amazon’s affiliates program to make a little extra cash. and it’s so much fun to make your own store!
i’ll be going through the incredible stream of gorgeous apartments coming in from nancy who’s volunteered to come paris and help me with the trip and book for two weeks in may. also coming is petunia you’ve probably seen her boisterous comments once in awhile :) she’s working with me on the new blog and is also hoping to come to paris to work on the book too.
i hope i don’t jinx it, but…one is on apartments in pAris and the other’s gonna be a scrapbook diary à la iefkederoos.com/scrapbooks.html
i figure it’s pretty much now or never to paint that masterpiece. i mean, what am i waiting for?
this should all be on the other site but i’ll do it tomorrow :) in the meantime, all the following stuff is from that same magazine.
christian lacroix hotel suite at hoteldupetitmoulin.com
this is one of my favorite places for decorative hardware:
the mag was from nov ’08. it’s in french but in the back they translate a lot of it. anyway it’s good practice reading french.
i love this pillow!
note to self: visit assouline
i’ love to visit marie christophe’s showroom
and see the artisans creating créations magnifique!
well off i go to the other blog and see if i can multi task. did i just give myself another full time job?

MERCI BEAUCOUP, for the address for Le Jeune Freres! I had never heard of this shop and on my next trip to Paris I’ll check them out! They seem like a great find!!!

How exciting! A second book! It looks like I’m going to just miss you in Paris – I’m heading over at the end of May, with my journal/scrapbook in tow. I’m considering staying at the Petit Moulin just because I love Christian Lacroix so much. And I love those pillows, too. What a great find!

I have just stumbled on this site and have found it interesting and informative with some great content.
What a lovely life you have even though it is so filled, for me this is the way I travel through people like you and what you share with others, this sounds so exciting I have to say.
