bonsir mes amis! hope you’re having a great friday night! i’ve been slacking off a bit tonight and following breadcrumbs…isn’t it amazing what you come across on the net and the way you got there? i can never seem to retrace my steps but tonight i decided to try. i found fantastic photographer, lee miller when i was looking for a book cover.

turns out she shot the beautiful cover above, featured on stylecourt’s blog

i was looking for it was cause the safari museum.com contacted me after seeing lynn’s book on my blog, by the same author, osa johnson.

style court has passion for books and another of her links led me to the selby where i spent way too long.

i love book collections. they’re such an individual statement and really intimate.

so anyway, that’s about 1/100th of what i’ve seen tonight and i bet your tracks have been pretty magical too! i better get going but just wanted to say hi and sort of recalibrate after a couple hectic days.

my blog’s always been that kind of r&r for me. i know this was a random post about absolutely nothing but i was having a seinfeild evening, what can i say? there’s so much going on that sometimes it’s almost a meditation to zone out and fly…

bon nuit! xoxoc

I absolutely love that dress in the first picture. Do you have any idea who it is by and what collection it came from? Gorgeous!

    Hi Claudia,
I’m doing the same thing tonight, looking at blogs and watching Antiques Roadshow. This kind of thing is medative and helpful to me too. Im also trying to sort out my storage dilemmas at the same time. I just put some very old books back on a bookshelf, and got to use the box they were in for dishes and china things. Organizing the little things helps me sort out the bigger matters in life too. Your pictures are fabulous as always! I love the books and want to check out the links too.

hi ladies, glad to know you’re at it too tonite!
ashley, i don’t know the designer but maybe you could ask lee, what with all the random connections and all, maybe she could ask the bride. did you see her shots from that wedding?

I hope you had grand fun with Liz. The first picture is amazing! I love getting lost looking at things. I rarely can find my way back when I want to find something I saw. If I could just figure out the right words to put into google!

Claudia, I LOVE all the randomness…I feel like very few people have on exacting style so it’s wonderful to mix and match and have fun with it…like this wonderful post fill of lovely things. Speaking of lovely things…I noticed you listed in the March issue of Gotham in the list of “Guilty Pleasures”. this is wonderful:) I love it here and so does everyone else! happy weekend, dear.

What a small world! I happen to know Leigh and she is as lovely as she is talented. It makes me so very happy to see her beautful work recognized here.

hi sinead, another random connection i guess! i visited your site and the photos are fantastic. i adore the one with the couple in silhouette on the brick wall like grafitti. brilliant!!

My husband gave me a wonderful copy of I Married Adventure for Christmas. I have had it lying on the piano bench and it keeps catching my eye. I’d love to do an entire room around it.

Books. We have them everywhere. I finally had a library built two years ago, and you know…it is the most perfect place to disappear to. Highly recommended!

  12. Iheartfashion replied:

I find myself examining the bookshelves of any house I walk into. It’s so interesting to see what people read or collect.

  13. leigh miller replied:

thank you for using my photo of osa johnsons book and for crediting me. i couldnt believe it when i found that book at a home in la jolla, ca since osa and martin are from the area in SE kansas where i spent my teen years. and you have a beautiful blog. have a great day – leigh

Lovely bookcase filled with wonderful books and lots of other gorgeous pictures.

the book – I married Adventure looks good and I will have to see if I can get a copy.

    Have a good week.

Wouldn’t it be fun for everyone to post a pic of her own book shelf? My husband swears I married him for his book collection. After all, he did have a great copy of the Oxford English Dictionary, so could you blame me? Enjoying your blog. Thanks, Nadine Bouler

  16. theparisapartment replied:

hi ladies, books are seductive apparently! i love the idea of everyone posting their own book shelves that’s brilliant!!

  17. Nadine Bouler replied:

Count me in– taking pics tomorrow– will post on my humble blog for those who might be interested. Happy Friday! Cheers and Peace, Nadine

  18. Jen replied:

This is a great post! I’ve never fully articulated or been able to explain how I lose entire evenings when all I set out to do was to read a blog post or two. Or buy a cookbook or a pair of earrings. 367 clicks later, I’m reading about rare bird sightings or I’ve bought another cool but totally superfluous demitasse from Australia. But thanks for sharing. I had fun following your breadcrumbs!

Plainly the content has cared to revive some imbecilic psyches long thought of as being dead. Amazing business leader . Never stick with. Great committal to writing ;).
