off with the show
omg, i just took the pressure off and decided not to do the show. my heart was not in it. things from paris wouldn’t be here on time, manufacturers couldn’t guarantee finished products…and these were the walls i wanted to construct. i think i had too much on my plate. undoing it may change my life.
and now i can source all the fab stuff i was gonna gather and get ready for the next one at the right pace. i came here to relax for god’s sake.
mostly i want to enjoy my new home for a sec…this is all i’ve been able to do so far, i’ve been running full speed since i got here. sad i know! but that can change now and i can breathe. i want to stop putting so much pressure on myself. i feel better already. thanks for your ears :p

Love that first image as well as your table and chair combo. You made the right choice.
I keep forgetting to tell you that I tried in vain to hunt down the issue of Romantic Homes and couldn’t find it anywhere. When I finally found a copy it was the March issue! I should subsribe. Do you read Victoria Magazine? I am happy it’s back in business!
Have a great and relaxing weekend.

Sometimes we have to stop … and let things go. You have to trust your gut and do things when the time is right. One clue that maybe the timing was off was the relief you felt when you made your decision. – Ro

Good for you! Turns out, you didn’t need a boost — you needed a break! :) It’s a wise girl indeed, who realizes when there is just too too much her plate.
If your heart wasn’t in it, and there wasn’t enough time to do things the way you wanted AND there were delivery date issues ~ then you clearly made the right decision. Congratulations on having the courage to step away from what wasn’t meant to be. Your next show will be fabulous!!
I love the darling silhouette of the girl above. Find some time to walk on the beach, chase some seagulls with you arms in the air and feel the freedom of this burden no longer on your shoulders.
Happy weekend~

If your heart was not in it – then I think you made a good choice. Sometimes we just have to go with our gut feelings – and take a break! Our body & mind will let us know :) So, Relax, grab a cup of coffee and a fabulous book and unwind for the day. Go to the movies – go to the park….anything to have a relaxing day. Thinking of you!

It takes courage to say…you know I can’t work magic. There’s only so much time and energy I can’t do this project justice at this time. I believe it shows wisdom to let this one go. Not to be corny but we’re only here once. Enjoy your new surroundings. Years ago I had a friend that was always going full steam. I was telling an older woman at the time how I kinda felt guilty (like I must have been lazy) but I’ve always needed balance in my life. This wise woman just said Hmmm, I wonder what she’s running FROM? Since that time I’ve looked at things a little different.
Best,
Kathy

What is it about this month? This is the first year since I was a teenager that I haven’t taken on more than I can handle at this time of year and then had to let go of at least half of it in order to just survive. Maybe the lengthening evenings make us overconfident? So I completely understand your decision and it was brave of you to decide that you couldn’t do it justice right now.

Claudia for the longest time you’ve been run off your feet working to please others. Now with this sea change and the loss of your puppy I think it really should be the time for you to take care of no.1!
You’re a successful business woman, you don’t have to prove anything to anyone. If you choose to take some time off and decorate your new apartment, walk along the beach and blog as much as you want then more power to you.
Remember, life’s too short – get out and enjoy it!
Sincerely,
Anna ;)

Bravo Claudia for making a tough decision that is so right. The toughest ones usually are. I don’t think you would be feeling such relief if it wasn’t right, you would still be feeling pressure. Nice to have space to breathe isn’t it? Good for you kiddo!

Good for you. It takes courage to say no. It really does. You have to know when you’ve pushed it too far. I was stretched too thin last fall and did myself a favor by pulling back. It feels GREAT even though it was a very difficult decision. I’m (I have to admit) a true overachiever, so admitting that I had one (or three) too many things on my plate took courage – much like your own recent decision. All I can say is GOOD FOR YOU!!!!
