time travelling
it’s SO wild being here, cause everything seems to be just outside my doorstep. since the only museums i really like are in mansions or in apartments, lorraine told me see victor hugo’s apt down the street at place des voges. it was fun to imagine he walked the same steps, wrote here, knew the streets and sounds…you sort of go back in time! wish i saw les mis now.

of course i had to go back to carnavalet across the street for work on the other book and spent HOURS there! i’ve been there 3 times and this time discovered sections i never knew about. i finally ran out of memory space on my camera and had to leave.

spent the rest of tonite downloading and making more space on the hard drive. (thanks for your help dad)!
it’s not my favorite room but it did make me wonder who came here to enjoy mme sevigne’s salons and entertain each other with poems, music and ideas of the day…

Great photos! The Place des Vosges is one of my favorite spots, but I’ve never seen Victor Hugo’s place. (And Les Miz the musical was highly overrated; you’re better off with the book)

I am so envious that you got to see Victor Hugo’s home! What fashions do you see men and women wearing? Any new trends/colors? What are you eating besides the bread and water? Oh, and what style shoes/boots. It is too hot to think about boots here, but fall will come.

it’s the lovely gardens and salons that always woo me. Parisian interiors are so over-embellished compared to the sleep domestic fare here in the states. It’s the contrast between the two that make each seem even more marvelous.
BTW< we’re glad your dad was able to help out. Wouldn’t want to miss any great pix!
