this is embarassing but what the hell

during curtains/b4 curtains

i can’t believe i’m creating my own ‘most embarassing moment’ with this before and after, but it’s also put me on a natural high…i finally bit the bullet and made curtains! i’m obsessed with this French bluegreen color so at the fabric district got 20 yards of $4 linen and hem tape, then came home and ironed them up. (thanks mom for teaching me that trick so early on). for the hems, i just ripped them like they do in the fabric store . i can always hem them later. (yeah right)!

They’re not perfect, they can fall down if i tug on them too hard but guess what? i don’t care! i love them to death!!! I’ll take better pics in the daylight, but just had to gush about it tonite, thanks for letting me!

Hello, I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time. I’m a big fan of your style. This is my first comment and I just had to cause that duck egg blue is my absolute favourite colour in the world. Your curtains look gorgeous :)

I love the color and from here they look great. I also made a bathroom curtain out of a Ralph Lauren fabric using hemp tape and hot glue. It only lasted until the first wash after that someone had to sew it for me. I brought it along with me when I got married.

That color!! How fabulous is that. They look wonderful, great choice. I am slightly jealous of the height of your ceilings..living in a low California home like I do. Claudia, these are wonderful. (and no one will know they aren’t hemmed..except your Mother, maybe!)

I love them! They look so decadent – one would never know it was a tear, a paste, and a little voodoo and voila…hee hee

Hi Claudia~~congrats on some lovely window treatments (and at a very affordable price! ) Wow! The color is stunning~~and I, too, am jealous of your high ceilings~~my friends mom lived on West 84th before she left us and she had the same lovely, tall ceiling to floor windows all accross the front of her apartment~~so very French!

    Wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You DID relocate that air conditioning unit, didn’t you??? And the moulding?? Was that all there before? It looks great! The curtains are making me jealous- I’ve been slaving away at my sewing machine for what seems like eons now! ;) They give new meaning to the term ‘tear sheet’. :)

Lurve the French blue, really do!
